Visitors from around the globe visit the newly refurbished Kinsol Trestle. One of the world's largest wooden railway trestles the 188 meter long span has become part of the Trans-Canada Trail - perfect for walking, biking or horseback riding. After crossing the Trestle energetic souls can follow the trail part or all the way to Cowichan Lake.

West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park. The park features a Douglas Fir forest trail as well as a large field and beach - ideal for groups as well as families. There are toilets and picnic tables.

There are many parks in the Shawnigan Area. Another day-use park is Mason Beach Park. Maintained by the Regional District, the park is located just outside the Village on Renfrew Road and just across the street from the building housing Mason's Store and other local businesses. There is a swimming area, picnic tables, change rooms and toilet facilities.

Shawnigan Wharf Park on Thrush Road. Another Regional Park, offers a boat launch, volley ball court, wharf and swimming area.

Old Mill Park is a Regional Park on the east shore of Shawnigan Lake on Recreation Road. Easy walking trails take you from the parking lot to the beach. There is a playground, picnic tables and portable toilets.
