SID BYLAWS
Various bylaws regulate activities within the SID’s boundaries. All bylaws passed by the Board of Trustees must be submitted to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for an official record. Select bylaws must be registered with the Inspector of Municipalities. These bylaws are not effective until that approval is granted.
SID Bylaw No. 106, cited as the "Shawnigan Improvement District Fire Department Establishment and Operations Bylaw", provides authority for the fire department to respond to incidents beyond the boundary of the improvement district under certain circumstances.
SID Bylaw No. 148, cited as the "Cowichan Valley Fire Department Regional Mutual Aid Agreement, Bylaw No. 148”, provides authority for the fire department to provide mutual aid response to incidents beyond the boundary of the improvement district under certain
circumstances.
